OnlyFans for creators: an honest look
MyRoomz runs a competing platform, so read this knowing that. We have tried to be fair. OnlyFans is the biggest name in creator subscriptions for good reasons, and for plenty of creators it is the right place to be.
Updated 10 October 2026
What OnlyFans does well
- Its name. It is the creator subscription platform most fans have heard of, which makes it the easiest link to share.
- Its audience. By its own published accounts it has millions of creators and well over 100 million fan accounts, and many fans already have an account there and are used to paying on it.
- Its track record. It has paid creators since 2016 and is run by Fenix International, a British company.
- Its reach. It accepts creators from many countries.
- A simple model: subscriptions, pay per view posts and messages, tips and live streams.
What it costs
OnlyFans publishes a standard creator fee of 20%, so you keep 80%. On A$5,000 a month that is A$1,000 a month, or A$12,000 a year.
Figures for other platforms are their widely published standard creator fees as at October 2026. Introductory rates and terms change, so check each platform’s own current terms.
When OnlyFans is likely the better choice
- Most of your paying fans are already subscribed to you there and would not follow you somewhere new.
- You live outside Australia, New Zealand, the United States, the United Kingdom and the European Union. MyRoomz creators currently verify with ID from one of those.
- You want the best known name above everything else, for example to share in places where fans will only click a link they recognise.
When MyRoomz may suit you better
- You want to keep more of each sale: MyRoomz keeps a flat 10% instead of 20%.
- You are in Australia and want an Australian company, prices and payouts in Australian dollars, and PayID.
- You want tools included: an AI chat assistant, private video and voice calls, auctions, gifts and goals, and tax ready reports.
- You want fans inside the platform to find you, through search, matching and a live list, not only through your own socials.
What MyRoomz does not have yet
- A big audience. MyRoomz launched in 2026, so there are far fewer fans on it today, and most new fans will still come from you.
- Familiarity. Your fans need to sign up, pass an age check and top up a wallet before they can subscribe.
- Instant payouts. A person checks every withdrawal, and every sale is held for five days first.
- Creators from everywhere. For now, Australia, New Zealand, the United States, the United Kingdom and the European Union.
You do not have to choose
Many creators keep their existing page and add a second one. You can bring your own photos and videos across with Migrate, review every post, and point fans to the new page with a free trial link.
Questions people ask
›How much does OnlyFans take?
Its published standard creator fee is 20%, so creators keep 80%. MyRoomz keeps 10%.
›Is OnlyFans worth it?
For many creators, yes, mainly because of its audience and its name. Whether that is worth the higher fee depends on how many of your fans are already there and how much you rely on it to be found.
›Is MyRoomz a replacement or an addition?
Either. Many creators run more than one page. Check each platform’s own terms for any rules of its own.
›Is MyRoomz as big as OnlyFans?
No. MyRoomz launched in 2026 and is much smaller. What it offers is a lower fee, Australian dollars and tools included, not a bigger audience.
